2026 Guide: Vietnam Visa Requirements for Czechs Passport Holders

Do Czechs Citizens Need a Visa for Vietnam?

No, for short stays. As of 2026, Czechs citizens are granted a 45-day visa exemption. You can enter Vietnam for tourism or business purposes without a visa, provided your stay does not exceed 45 days, including the dates of entry and exit.

If you plan to stay longer than 45 days, you must apply for an e-visa before your arrival.

Does Any Exemption Apply?

- The 45-day unilateral visa waiver is the main exemption. It is valid for both short-term tourism and business trips.
- The 5-year visa exemption is available to overseas Vietnamese in Czech Republic and their immediate family members.

How to Apply for a Visa?

For stays of more than 45 days, Czechs passport holders must apply for a 90-day e-visa through the official portal at evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn. The online process requires a passport data-page scan and a recent portrait photo.

How Much Does It Cost?

Please refer to the table below for Vietnam visa fees for Czechs citizens:

Visa Type Visa Fee (USD)
45-Day Visa Exemption Free
E-visa - Single Entry (up to 90 days) US$25 (~524 CZK)
E-visa - Multiple Entry (up to 90 days) US$50 (~1,048 CZK)

Can I Get a Visa on Arrival at the Airport, or Do I Need to Apply in Advance?

Czechs citizens can receive their 45-day visa exemption stamp directly at the airport free of charge. However, if you need a visa for up to 90 days, you must apply for an e-visa in advance. You cannot upgrade from a 45-day visa-free entry stamp to a 90-day visa at the airport.

How Long Does It Take to Get a Vietnam Visa?

The 45-day visa exemption is granted immediately at immigration. If you apply for a 90-day e-visa, the normal processing time is 3 to 5 working days.

Please note that the Czech Republic is about 5.0 hours behind Vietnam. Be sure to check the time difference carefully when choosing the correct application time.

How to Get an Emergency Visa for Czechs Passports?

If you are a Czechs citizen and realize at the last minute that your stay will exceed 45 days, you may apply for an expedited e-visa through a visa agency, which may be processed in as little as 1 to 2 hours.

Do Czechs Citizens Need a Transit Visa?

Generally, no. For a simple transit, you remain in the transit area. For self-transfer situations, where you need to exit and re-check your baggage, Czechs citizens can usually use their 45-day visa-free entry to clear immigration at no cost.
