I lost my original application code. How can I track my Vietnam visa application status?
If your Vietnam e-visa registration code is lost, the first step is to search your email carefully. The registration code is often included in the confirmation email sent after the application is submitted.
Option 1: Search your email
This is the fastest and most reliable way to recover the registration code. Search all folders, including Inbox, Spam, Junk, and Promotions. If the application was submitted on the official e-visa website, search for emails sent from [email protected].
After the code is found, go to the official e-visa status check page:
https://evisa.gov.vn/e-visa/search
Enter the following information:
- Registration code
- Email address used for the application
- Date of birth
- Captcha code
The system will then show whether the application is still in processing or already approved.
Option 2: Contact support
If the registration code cannot be found in the email inbox, the next step is to contact technical support. For applications submitted directly on the official government portal, please reach [email protected] providing the same details used in the application, including full name, nationality, passport number, date of birth, and application date.
Option 3: Guess the e-visa code using passport details and application date
You can also try to make up the e-visa code using your passport details. An e-visa code often looks like this: E260306USAA1234567873 (E-260306-USA-A12345678-73)
This code has 5 parts:
- E = e-visa
- 260306 = application date, meaning yy-mm-dd (26-03-06)
- USA = nationality code in ISO 3-letter format
- A12345678 = passport number
- 73 = random number from 10 to 99
This method should be used only as a reference, because guessing the number from 10 to 99 is difficult.
